CLP Talk 12: Transformation in Christ

The culmination of the CLP fall-winter 2010 was well attended and supported by the CFC family ministry heads and SFC members who were all excited to welcome the new members of the community. The event started with the last CLP talk which was given by Tito George Fournier who explained the new life that the new members will experience with the grace of the Holy Spirit and the support that they will receive from the community. He explained that it is a continuous process of transformation in Christ and in order to fulfill God's purpose, we need to grow to know, love and serve God. He said, "It is not enough to just go to church every Sunday, our service to God should be everyday of our lives." And with the grace of the Holy Spirit, we could respond to God's call through continuous growth in personal holiness, total dependence to God, to carry SFC in our homes and at work, and to share with others the blessing of being in a Christian community.

Bro. Rongie Faustino also shared his experience in joining the community and how it changed him especially at times when he is not at his best attitude. He learned to respond in a Christian way, rely on prayer and was grateful for the comfort of having brothers and sisters in the community. And he said, "We may not have a perfect community but being part of SFC is a privilege and a wonderful gift from God." Tita Evelyn Fournier also gave a short message and welcomed the new members hoping that they will all be active, happy and proud members of SFC.

Tito George together with the music ministry led the new members into a reflection song and was followed by the commitment ceremony where the new members read out and signed the SFC covenant card led by Bro. Ardi Valenzuela. A pray over session followed where everyone present uttered a prayer for the newly SFC members. It was a heart-warming and wonderful sight welcoming the new brethren of SFC with a prayer in our hearts that they will take part and live the mission of SFC.
